NAME
Asian-Australasian Association of Animal Production Societies (AAAP)
AIMS
To promote animal production in the Asian-Australasian region through national, regional, international cooperation and conferences.
MEMBERSHIP
1) Membership to the Association shall be open to all National Societies of Animal Production or similar organizations in Asia and Australasia (Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific).
2) The application for membership shall be made in a prescribed manner to the Honorary Secretary. Election for membership shall be the responsibility of the Council.
ORGANIZATION
1) Council
The affairs of the Association shall be managed by a Council.
a) Membership
The Council shall consist of the immediate past President and one representative from each member country. The representative from each country shall have only one vote.
A Council representative shall be designated by the Associations/s, Society/ Societies of the country represented.
Except for the office of the immediate past President, no Council member shall serve longer than two terms,
a term being the period from the end of one AAAP Congress to the end of the next. The Council may appoint representative of countries not having National Associations or Societies to be observers in the Council.
b) Duties
The duties of the Council shall be to elect the President, two Vice-Presidents, the Secretary General and Editor-in-Chief of AB, none of whom at the time of election is required to be member of the Council. Under the leadership of the elected officers, the Council shall conduct the business affairs of the AAAP. The Council generally will meet during the course of the AAAP Congress meeting. The Council shall be responsible for approving membership dues and disbursement of funds. It shall solicit invitations to host AAAP Congress and select from prospects the country to organise each meeting. It shall delegate certain duties to the elected officers to serve on its behalf. The Council shall make by-laws for the conduct of its business. Decisions of the Council shall be by simple majority.
2) President
Subject to Council approval the president shall be the nominee of the Association or Society of the country that is selected to organise the next AAAP Congress. He shall serve for a period from the end of one AAAP Congress to the end of the next. The President shall preside over the meetings of the Council and, as directed by the Council, supervise the duties of the Secretary General. He shall represent the Association as an official spokesman and act as Chairman of Association Congress.
3) Vice-President
The Vice-Presidents shall be elected by the Council to serve for a period from the end of one Congress meeting to the end of the next. One or other of the Vice-Presidents as determined by the Council shall act in the capacities of the President when the President is unable to serve.
4) Secretary General
The Secretary General shall be elected by the Council and serve for 6 years. The Secretary General shall conduct the administrative and financial activities of the AAAP under the directives laid down by the Council and supervised by the President. He shall be responsible for exchange of correspondence and for keeping a file of individual membership in the several Member Associations and Societies. He shall assume other duties and responsibilities as may be delegated to him by the Council.
5) Editor-in-Chief of AB
Ediror-in-Chief shall be elected by the Council with a term of 6 years and shall have the responsibility of the publication of AB.
FINANCES
1) Each Member Association or Society shall pay an annual membership fees to the office of the Secretary General, the rate of which is established by the Council. Each year a budget shall be submitted to and approved by the Council. The accounts of the AAAP shall be audited yearly by an auditor selected by the Council.
2) Annual membership fees shall be payable on the 1st January of each year. Membership will automatically lapse if fees are in arrears for two consecutive years.
WORK OF THE AAAP
1) The AAAP shall hold AAAP Congress on Animal Production to be held once every two to four years, the date of which will be determined during the meeting of Council. It shall select a host Member Country to organise the Congress and collaborate with it in preparation.
2) AAAP shall collaborate with Member Societies in initiating and organizing regional discussions, symposia and conferences on problems within the region.
3) AAAP shall advise and nominate membership of working groups, symposia, or other functions when invited by appropriate organizations, and to offer nominations and advice if Council considers it can contribute usefully by doing so.
4) AAAP shall facilitate the interchange of information between Member Societies on activities and functions of common interest. This may include information concerning office bearers in Member Societies, papers of publications of Member Societies, honours conferred on members of Member Societies, and other of common interest.
5) AAAP shall publish an official journal named Animal Bioscience. The proceedings of each AAAP Congress comprising the invited and other papers shall be published by the Organizers of each Congress in a format that is agreed with the Editor-in -Chief of Asian Australasian Journal of Animal Sciences.
COLLABORATION WITH OTHER INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
1) The AAAP will collaborate closely with the World Association of Animal Production and governmental or non-governmental organizations having similar interests.
2) The AAAP will not represent any member on any matter concerning World Association of Animal Production (WAAP).
REVISION OF STATUTES AND DISSOLUTION OF THE AAAP
The Council shall have the right to revise the Statutes of AAAP and to declare its dissolution by a two-thirds majority vote. A member may withdraw membership at their discretion.

1) The AAAP will collaborate closely with the World Association of Animal Production and governmental or non-governmental organizations having similar interests.
2) The AAAP will not represent any member on any matter concerning World Association of Animal Production (WAAP).
